We're a bus.....

That's what you say when everone who is supposed to be on the bus is on and ready to go. You learn something new everyday.

To say it right you have you say it with a thick British accent like the tour manager Paul does.

"Are we a boos? Yea -- we're a boos!"

Coachizzle

Car is coming at 5AM. Morning flights always seem like a good idea until the night before. Fly Newark to San Fran, Matty is coming to pick me up and then a day to hang out in the city. Matt and Danny were my two best friends when I moved to New York in '93. They lived at 95 Christopher in apartment 3L -- it was the hangout for the whole crowd. There are many stories -- all of which I'm not telling. It'll be great to see him again.

Juan is staying here taking care of Boo and Truman. I'm not sure Juan has any idea what he is in for. Having two Rottweilers is like running a circus -- two big, willful children. That on top of showing the apartment several times while I'm gone. Juan is a saint.

This kicks off an insanely busy month. California for 5 days, back for a day, Louisville for 2 days, back here, open Art Rock. Work is starting on the new apartment, and I'm gonna try to move by June 1. So busy I can't see straight.

Can't wait to see Chris. I miss him a lot and we haven't hung out in a while.

Also -- pretty excited for Shoreline and Coachella. It turns out tons of people I know are going so it should be a pretty fucking good time. All systems go.

Weekend Update

Friday Night: Better Burger with Wizzle.

Extreme nausea. Am now boycotting Better Burger

Saturday Night: Scissor Sisters at Bowery Ballroom. Great fucking show. Huge crowd of friends.

Surreal Moment: Cher. We thought she was seated with Alice Cooper but it turned out not to be him. It looked really really like him though. Other takes here and here.

Sunday Night: Scissor Sisters at Bowery Ballroom. Great fucking show again.

Surreal Moment: Karl Lagerfeld. Yes -- the fucking Kaiser. You'd think on a Sunday night at the Bowery Ballroom would be a casual dress up night. Not for Karl. He gave classic skinny Karl! 4 inch collar, black bow-tie, leather gloves with no fingers, white hair in a ponytail and huge sunglasses. I read somewhere he's afraid someone is going to throw acid in his face.

Both shows were off the hook. 2 down -- two to go. I promise to being my camera for Shoreline and Coachella. I stole this pic from Juan but it's a great one so I'm gonna use it too.

Also -- I think Dizzle has a HUGE announcement in the works. HX mistakenly called him Babydizzle this week. Obviously their fact checker didn't call anyone, cause everyone who knows him knows that him simply now goes by Dizzle. HX's mistake up there with the Jayson Blair thing if you ask me.

Ultimate Fighter 3/Episode 3

Poor Ross. The great lookin' Brit with the thick cockney accent (so strong they had to put subtitles whenever he spoke) got his ass kicked by Kendall. So -- Team Ortiz wins two in a row. I gotta say -- I'm liking Tito a lot more now -- he's training the boys hard and it shows. Shamrock seems to be slacking. He took his guys golfing for training? This is the fucking UFC -- not golf. I hate golf.

It was a weird fight for middleweights -- they both weighed in at 185 but Ross is 5'9 and Kendall is 6'6. Ross is a good stand up fighter but has no ground skills and it showed. All Kendall had to do was get him to the ground and he caught Ross in a rear naked choke and Ross tapped. Over.

I liked Ross -- sorry to see him go.

ArtRock 2006

Sometimes you get offered great opportunities. Having the chance to set up shop in the middle of Rockefeller Center to put up a 16 gallery show  is one of those rare and great treats.

Hats off to Tishman Speyer for letting us set up shop, and if you work in the area -- come by and see our installation -- a single channel video by Jen DeNike titled "Air Hockey"

Countdown to Coachella

OK -- so I've been putting off posting this but it's coming up so here goes. Babydizzle invited me to go to Coachella and hang and and hear bands for two days. The Scissor Sisters are playing on Sunday night. I said I'd go if there weren't a ton of people going with the band and if he promised not to ditch me for famous people all day.

He said yes and I said yes.

Then he told me they were opening up for Depeche Mode on Thursday night at the Shoreline Amphitheater "an hour outside of LA" so I said I'd go to that too -- being the good and self-sacrificing friend that I am.

Then Dizzle called to say he made a mistake -- Shoreline was an hour outside of San Francisco. I said "how the hell am I supposed to get from SF to Indio?"

He said "I'll call you back."

Anyway -- turns out they found me an extra bed on the tour bus so I am abandoning my life as an art dealer TO BE A TOTAL FUCKING GROUPIE!!!! YAY!!!!!!

Jake says I have to run around in my underwear on the bus in exchange for the ride.

So -- next Wednesday I take off for San Fran for 5 days of fun and frolic. Wizzle and Chris are coming out to Coachella too.

Also SS are playing two warm up shows on Saturday and Sunday at the Bowery Ballroom. So -- In the course of 7 days I'll hear them play 4 times. Also -- my sources indicate they'll be playing my favorite song from the new album for the first time live on Saturday.

Expect lots of words and pictures from the trip.

Loving the Diaries. It's funny -- there is this idea among gay men that we create a lot of drama for ourselves. Reading the Warhol Diaries just reminds me that all people create a lot of drama.

Thursday, March 31, 1977

Bianca was there. I thought she'd already left for Paris. She was saying out loud everything that I was thinking -- what two bitches (redacted) and (redacted) were -- and she said -- at least (redacted) can be funny sometimes.

This is the best read ever. It's like an 807 page issue of Page Six.

Weekend Update

Friday we went to Snaxx (shocker) at 11:30 and it was way too crowded, plus I only knew about four of the people in the room. Somehow we ended up going upstairs and started playing pool. All of a sudden all of our friends showed up and everyone was hanging out upstairs. The jukebox was kicking out good songs and there was plenty of room to move. I actually stayed out til 1 which on a school night is rare.

It was a lot of fun. I think Gustavo was mad 'cause we weren't downstairs but it was juts too fucking crowded.

Sunday, my moms and I went to PS1 for Jen DeNike's coloring book project. They had taken Edward Munch and Tracey Emin drawings and made a coloring book for kids out of them. The room was full of kids and there were a series of performances. My mom and I sat down and colored. We kept having to ask little kids to borrow their markers, cause some kids had lots of colors.

We put my moms on the wall.

After that Moms and I went out for Soup Dumplings and enjoyed the afternoon. A lovely day. To cap it off -- went by the Eagle with Stew. Had to borrow Joe's sweat shirt cause I was freezing. It filled up but I'd had enough by 8 and came home.

Today's a sort of day off. One artist meeting and then I'm free for the day.
