Coco "Coco Loco" Kamm, RIP

It is with great sadness that I report -- Coco -- my mother's beloved chocolate lab passed away late Saturday night from complications from surgery for a torn ACL at my mothers house on Long Island.

For those of you who know my mom, and Coco I thought you should know. Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers.

I'm sure wherever she is -- Boo is taking good care of her. Truman and Frisket will miss her terribly.

The following is a picture of Coco in my lap as a puppy with Boo lying down and puppy Frisket looking on.

May the four winds blow you safely home.

I'm at home here.

Last night Andy and I went out on the Breakwater at 1 AM -- a structure that remarkably looks like a Smithson Sculpture -- The spiral jetty flattened. It protects the dunes that run out to Long Point -- the tip of the cape. Normally man made structures in such a beautiful place seem to intrude. The Breakwater quietly and colossally does not.

We walked about half way out, stripped off our clothes and went swimming in the moonlight. I wonder if therapy would need to exist at all if everyone could just go there under a full moon and skinny-dip.

On the way home my skin had that briny feeling one only gets after exiting saltwater and air drying. It was the happiest I've been in a while.

Buster "Boo Radley" Kamm, RIP

Boo died today. He was the best dog in the world.

The Death of Thought Not... Part 1

If you've followed blogs for any length of time, you have probably witnessed a few dramatic "I'm quitting blogging forever" posts. They are generally followed up by a quiet period -- then a grand "I'm back!" post.

So -- to spare people, let's just say I'm signing off for now. No real reason, it's been fun -- I've posted 498 posts -- told a bunch of stories and had a good time.

So -- thanks for reading and I'll see you around.

Joe Ovelman -- Sao Paulo Wall

I have had the pleasure of working with Joe Ovelman for the past few years. This weekend we produced one of his "Wall" pieces -- photo collages illegally wheat-pasted in the middle of the night on construction sites.

The latest wall was comprised of images from Sao Paolo where Joe has been living.

One of the great things about all of the Chelsea development is that Joe was able to do his largest project to date, stretching most of the block on 10th Avenue between 22nd and 23rd Street.
